Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease that occurs when the human body is not able to produce enough of the hormone insulin or because cells do not respond to the insulin that is produced. High blood sugar produces symptoms of frequent urination, increased thirst and hunger. Globally in 2013, it is estimated that almost 382 million people suffer from diabetes for a prevalence of 8.3%. Any disease caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites and protozoans and can be spread from one individual to the other fall under the category of infectious diseases. Sometimes some helpful microorganisms may become opportunistic pathogens and cause disease. These diseases can be diagnosed by microscopy, microbial culture and biochemical test or by met genomic sequencing using bioinformatics tools.

Digital pathology offers a wider accessibility to microscopic slides improving a working flexibility of pathologists.

One of its main advantages against traditional microscopy, in addition to ergonomics and immediate access to slides, is distance reporting. Large validation studies were limited to the diagnostic accuracy and cost-effectiveness of the remote frozen section and consultation services, some briefly mentioning remote access for local pathologists and management of excessive workload by private clinic, however, without a detailed analysis of the technical and professional issues with distance reporting.

In an era of increased workload, case complexity, financial constraints, and staffing shortages, many pathology departments worldwide are experiencing, a wider implementation of digital pathology is seen as justifiable.

The aim of this session is to make comprehensive pathology services available by distance.

Various fields of digital pathology include Anatomic pathology, Bio banking and Digital Repositories, Computational pathology, Dermatopathology and Diagnostics, Digital Imaging Modalities, Forensic pathology, Radiology, Quantitative image analysis, Telepathology and Virtual microscopy.

Dentistry is a branch of medicine that that is concerned with the detection, prevention, and treatment of diseases of the mouth cavity and the oral mucosa.

Among the various specialities of dentistry, Pediatric dentistry is concerned with providing comprehensive oral healthcare for children in their growing years. Restorative dentistry and endodontics deal with the management of the diseases of the teeth and maxillofacial area. Cosmetic/esthetic dentistry serves to reconstruct the dentition according to the needs and aesthetics of the individual. Forensic dentistry/ forensic odontology reports help in the evaluation of dental evidence in criminal cases. Periodontitis, gingivitis, dental caries, and sensitivity are some of the common diseases that affect the oral cavity. A Recent study shows that severe periodontitis may also point to early diabetes.

Clinical Dermatology and Cosmetology deals with the procedures and surgeries performed as corrective or sculpting techniques to improve the appearance of individual’s body  (the skin, nails, hair and its diseases). Pre and post-operative effects also have a keen strategy behind any procedure it may be surgical and non-surgical procedures. The post-operative effects may lead to the formation of a new disease or permanent scars. Use of personalized medicines and techniques can reduce the risks of postoperative effects.

This session is aimed primarily at vascular surgeons dealing with patients with arterial, venous and lymphatic diseases. Contributions are included on the diagnosis, investigation and management of these vascular disorders. Abstracts that consider the technical aspects of vascular surgery are encouraged.

Abstracts describing endovascular method and their critical evaluation are included, as well as reports on the emerging technology associated with this field. It also includes associated specialities such as angiology, diabetology, rehabilitation and other fundamental sciences, provided these relate to the management of vascular patients

Nursing, an exceptionally specialised profession that has persistently delivering the health care service to patients after the treatment and helps in patient recovery. Nursing is a responsibility of a public health, an application of concern and a legitimate perception.

Palliative Care is an end-of-life care where the serious illness affects the more than just a patient’s body. It treats and improves the quality of lives of the person’s family members along with a patient.

Clinical Nursing and Palliative Care aims to provide an open platform to high-quality original research studies and reviews on nursing and palliative care that focus on baccalaureate and higher degree nursing education, educational research, and policy related to education and partnerships.

Its mission is to provide its readers a clinically relevant content in every issue and serve as a vehicle for professional nurses to improve the care of critically ill patients and their families. The session welcomes submission of original manuscripts describing investigations, advances, or observations from all specialties related to the care of critically ill patients.
